Not long now. I cant wait for She-Ra to return to my tv after so long of being away.
It has been a while since I have posted. I just saw the new Dreamworks She-Ra trailer that came out this weekend. I immediately had to do some art of Mermista. Out of all of the character designs I was excited to see, Mermista was the one I was looking forward to see the most. I love her look. She looks so athletic and beautiful.
So when I ordered Mulan, unlike most people, I was not really sure if I loved her yet. I even thought about selling her once she came in. #buyersremorse #guilt When I saw her in person I literally said our loud “Your and idiot”. Mulan is one of the most stunning collectables I own. The word Caesar used in latin, in his book on the Gallic Wars is Frumentum, which is commonly translated into English as Corn. “How odd,” you might think. “I didn’t think the Romans would even have known that corn exists.”
The word corn is old. It means the main grain of the region. It also predates the old world discovering the maize growing in the new world. The use of the word to mean exclusively Sweetcorn or Maize is a fairly modern North American usage.

The first of the 2018 #Hallmark #Keepsake #ornaments have been released. I was just going to go in and check them out, but as soon as I saw this #disney #cinderella and #princecharming musical ornament, I had to have it. The pictures online do not do it justice. Cinderella’s gown had this incredible iridescent glaze over it that is truly magical. It is made out of #porcelain and Hallmark always nails it on the paint job. Every tiny little detail is perfect. The sound quality is also top notch. It plays the entire version of “So this is Love”. Disney Limited Edition Pocahontas:
What can I say about this doll?… It is incredible and give such honor and love to one of my favorite Disney Heroes. The Limited Edition Pocahontas Doll is everything I could have asked for. She is literally a work of art. She not only pays tribute to Pocahontas, but also gives great attention to cultural dress and art from the Powahatan and other Native American cultures.
The embroidery and Native American patters are so intricate and detailed. The metallic threads make this doll feel super rich. The bead work is outstanding… I cannot even imagine the amount of work that probably went into doing that. There are even little gold flecks in the beads that are a tiny but nice touch point to the gold in the rest of her dress. That is just an example of all of the thoughts and detail that go into this doll. I love the interpretation of her mother’s necklace. The different textures and fabrics of her dress work so well and the colors are so rich and warm. Perfect for representing Pocahontas’s look and her personality. Her cape is a surprising edition and is there to represents the color of the wind. To me, the cape is also a representation of the river… a important symbol for Pocahontas, how she chooses her path in life, and finding out what she really wants. The symbol of the river means a lot to me as well.
“Just Around the River Bend” is one of the songs that has really defined how I think about my path in life and influences the choices I make to this day. This doll is more than a doll to me, she is a physical representation of a belief that was instilled in me at a very young age. Pocahontas informed the person I am today in so many ways. It is an honor to have this in my collection.
Lego Elves Noctura’s Tower & the Earth Fox Rescue:
Noctura’s Tower and the Earth Fox may be my favorite builds in one of the BEST series Lego Elves has ever released. This may be the largest single set I have ever built as well. (the Goblin City may actually be bigger, not sure)
To start, the set comes with my boy Farran Leafshade rocking a super cool metallic covered vest with intricate fox details on his leather shoulder strap. Farran also comes with a really great shield build that features the new leaf pieces, and his earth magic symbol.
The Earth Fox is my favorite animal out of this series I think, (though my favorite changes frequently) I love the green color and the purple leaf accents are a great touch. The head sculpt is very nicely done, and the Earth Fox build has great articulation all around. I really like the tail, and that you can move the individual tails or put them all together to make one large tail.
This set’s main attraction is Noctura and her tower which equip with everything an inter-dimensional witch needs to capture all of the magic of Elvendale. Her tower comes with great details like spiderwebs, lime green magic chains, sculls in jars, magic spell books, and tons of fun creepy things to discover. I love on the first floor lounging area for Noctura to sit and read her evil spell books and hatch her evil plans. There is a cauldron with an action feature that levitates her potions and pours them into her witches brew. I get the feeling Noctura does not like to do things for herself. This is probably why she has all of these bat servants around to do her bidding. This set comes with two. One can man the crossbow and one to keep a lookout.
The main action feature for the tower is the crank powered wings and dragon head sculpture that rises up and down to cover and protect the magic jewels stolen from all of the Wind Dragon, Fire Lion, Water Turtle, and Earth Fox.
I had such a great time building this set and discovering all of the wonderful details and story secrets this build has to offer. If your a fan of Lego Elves or fantasy in general, this is a must have.

2018 Lego Elves: Emily Jones and the Great Eagle Getaway
Lego Elves: Aira and the Song of the Wind Dragon:
My first build of the new 2018 Lego Elves line. Aira comes with another wind dragon, but this one is completely different. His/Her name is Cyclo. The dragon is smaller than the other wind dragon build, but comes with these super cool lightening bolt wings. This is the first time I have seen these bolts in the Elves line. I wonder if they are new pieces, or from other sets. If I had to guess, it looks like they would come from the Lego Knights sets. This dragon uses the same head mold as the Goblin Kings dragon from the last wave.
Aira comes with a really cool special build wind bow and arrow. She also has an updated outfit that if you look close you can see dragon designs on it. I noticed that all the new elves outfits have imagery from the animals that come with them. I LOVE little thoughtful details like that.
This build also comes with Lumia and what I assume is her home, The Windsweapt Isles. It looks to be a floating music school. There are so many great instrument builds with this. I love the wind organ and the harp. There is a little photo, and it looks like the music loving goblin has gotten a degree in music from the bird companion that lives on the Windsweapt Isles. This is so great, what great follow trough connecting all of the lines and story.
From some of the box art work, it looks like our new elf, Lumia is a wind elf, but can also turn into an eagle. This eagle form is sold with Emily Jones in another set. I think that is going to be my next buy, its so cool! Lumia is a beautiful dark skinned elf with long white hair and intricate sliver, white and gold dress with dark navy blue boots. She also comes with a large staff that has a wind element coming from the top.
It looks like the henchmen are returning for this line, and this time they are bats with cool translucent wings. This set comes with a bat named Phyll and he is driving a mini air balloon that shoots green disc. I am really interested to see what the new big bad this season is up to. Her name is Nocturna, and the art work kind of makes her look like a vampire, but she is from another dimension called the Shadow World. The art work has these portals that looks like the Elves and Emily Jones will be going through to save the animals that Nocturna is imprisoning.
The new Lego Elves line is so great and I am so glad that I was able to pick this set up.
I was SO surprised when I walked past the LEGO Elves section and saw the purple Wind Dragon. At first glance I thought it was the Original Wind Dragon set which goes for like $300 on EBay. I looked closer and was even MORE surprised to see that it was not the original Wind Dragon set, but part of a whole new release for the LEGO Elves line!!
They are so amazing. Each elf has an element animal and it looks like they are battling another female dark elf who is trying to kidnap all of the mystical beast. All the elves come with their own elemental weapon as well. From the art you’ll see that Emily gets a Bad ass glowing sword from her amulet.
This may be my favorite LEGO Elves line yet! I picked up the Wind Dragon set because it was already the last on in the store…couldn’t take the chance I would miss out on it. I’ll post pictures of the built set later.
I have never posted any pictures of my LEGO Elves collection here, so I will do that a little later. Keep an eye out!
If the sets are any indication, then the next season of the LEGO Elves show on Netflix is going to be AMAZING!!!
Limited Edition Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Elsa:
I remember the first time I watched the trailer for the Frozen Holiday short, and the second that Elsa came onto the screen, I knew I had to have her as a doll. This is my first 17inch Limited Edition doll. The Disney Store did such an amazing job.
It was funny that when the first stock photos came out, a lot of people were not into her or Anna. This actually made me question if I wanted her or not, but I thought to myself, no matter what others think, if you love her than get her. I am so glad I did. The stock photos don’t do her justice. Her ice cape is a work of art. There are so many beautiful intricate details on this doll, and I love finding new things about it every-time I look at her.
The only thing I would change is the back ground. I love the scene at the end of the short, and would have preferred that they pictured the snowy forest with the ice tree and the contrasting orange lanterns glowing in the distance. That would have made Elsa stand out more and provide more color and warmth to the box. I also wish that she was carrying her lantern… bonus points if the lantern would light up. It’s my hope that Disney Store will start to incorporate things like this into their Limited Edition dolls.
She is a beautiful elegant doll that I think is the perfect way to start of my Limited Edition Collection.
